Where can I find the serial number of the Meta Quest 3(S)?

What you need

You need the headset and a well-lit place. A phone camera is optional. The headset can stay switched off, and you do not need the handheld controllers.

Read the number on the headset

1. Hold the headset as if you were about to put it on, with the two lenses facing your face. Find the rigid plastic arm that would sit next to your left temple, where the head strap attaches.

2. Lift that arm gently upwards. Look at its inner surface, the side facing your head when you wear the headset. You should see small printed text.

3. Write down the complete serial number, including every letter and number. If the print is hard to read, take a close-up photo and enlarge it on your phone.

Tip: If the arm is cracked or will not move normally, stop and use the account method below. Do not pry open the headset casing.

If you cannot read the number on the headset

Use this method only if you can sign in to the Meta account used with this headset. If a colleague set it up, ask that person to check the account.

1. Open a web browser, such as Chrome, Safari or Edge, on your phone or computer. Click the link below:

2. Sign in with the email address and password for the Meta account used with this headset. You should reach a page listing the devices linked to that account.

3. Find Meta Quest 3S in the device list. If several are listed, ask the person who manages your headsets to identify the broken one before continuing.

4. Copy the serial number shown below the model name and keep it for your repair request.

Troubleshooting

The box shows a different number. Meta states that packaging numbers are not the device serial number. Use the headset or linked account instead. Controllers and accessories also have separate identifiers.

The headset is absent from the account. For company-managed equipment, ask your IT administrator to check the existing inventory record. Do not register a new account or reset the headset to find the number.
