What is the IP rating of the RealWear HMT-1?

The RealWear HMT-1 is IP66 certified.

What is an IP rating?  The IP Code (Ingress Protection Code) classifies and rates the degree of protection against, among others, dust and water and is published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

What does an IP rating of IP66 mean? The first digit of the IP rating represents how dustproof the device is; a rating of IP6x shows that the device is impervious to penetration by dust or any other particles.  The second digit represents how waterproof the device is; a rating of IPx6 means that the device will withstand direct contact with high-pressure water streams from any angle, but is not designed to be used when submerged underwater.
