The IP Rating of the Moziware Cimo is IP66. Meaning the Moziware Cimo is fully dustproof and water resistant.
What is an IP rating? The IP Code (Ingress Protection Code) classifies and rates the degree of protection against, among others, dust and water and is published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This means that water and dust have no potential to cause damage to the Moziware Cimo, which makes it ideal for heavy industry.
In comparison, the RealWear HMT-1 and the RealWear Navigator 500 both are IP66 certified. These headsets are also built to resist dust and other particles, remaining unaffected even when exposed to high-pressure water streams from any direction. However, it is important to note that they are not intended for underwater use.
A higher IP rating is achieved by the Vuzix M400/M4000, which is IP67 certified, indicating it is additionally protected against full immersion for up to 30 minutes at the depths between 15 cm and 1 meter.
