What is the weight of the Lynx R1?

The weight of the Lynx R1 is 500 grams together with the head strap. Therefore, the Lynx R1 is heavier compared to the HTC Vive XR Elite, which weighs 240 grams, and the Magic Leap 2, weighing 260 grams. However, it is lighter than the Meta Quest 3, which weighs 515 grams, the Apple Vision Pro, which weighs 650 grams, and the Meta Quest Pro, which weighs 722 grams.

What are the display specifications of the Lynx R1?

The Lynx R1 is a binocular headset with two LCD displays, offering users a balanced visual experience. Each display has a resolution of 1600×1600 pixels, ensuring clarity and detail. With a refresh rate of 90Hz, the Lynx R1 provides smooth motion for various applications. 

The 90-degree circular field of view additionally contributes to an enhanced sense of immersion. 

What is the chipset of the Lynx R1?

The chipset of the Lynx R1 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2. The HTC Vive XR Elite has the same chipset. Currently the most powerful chipset is the Qualcomm XR2 Gen 2 from the Meta Quest 3.  

The Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 offers 2.5x more graphics performance compared to the first generation. Although the Lynx R1 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 it is still a good chipset for normal day-to-day use.

Does the Lynx R1 have integrated microphones?

Yes, the Lynx R1 has 2 integrated microphones. The microphones are located at the bottom side of the headset under each lens. It is also possible to use the Lynx R1 with headphones. View this guide which headphones can be used with the Lynx R1.

Does the Lynx R1 have speakers?

Yes, the Lynx R1 does have 2 built-in stereo speakers. The speakers are located on the outside of the horizontal straps on the headset. They are positioned right above the ear for the best possible sound quality. 

What kind of sensors uses the Lynx R1?

You will find 6 circles on the front of the headset. Three on the bottom right side and 3 on the bottom left side. From the outside to the inside, 6 DOF cameras, hand tracking cameras and IR illumination LEDs are lined up here. 

The 6 DoF cameras register the movements within a room, so that the projections inside the headset move accordingly. Thanks to the hand tracking cameras it is possible to operate the Lynx R1 without controllers using only your hands. The hand tracking of the Lynx R1 was developed by Ultra Leap.

What is the field of view of the Lynx R1?

The field of view of a headset specifies the size of the section you see while wearing the headset. The field of view of the Lynx R1 is 90 degrees in a circular shape.

What is the IPD of the Lynx R1?

The IPD of the Lynx R1 can be individually adjusted and has a range of 56-72 mm.
