How to use the code scanner of the RealWear Navigator 500?

In this article you will learn how to use the code scanner of the RealWear Navigator 500. 

What is needed: 

  • RealWear Navigator 500
  • Active Wi-Fi connection
  • A device with access to the Google Play store or Apple App store
  • The RealWear Companion app installed on your device

How to use the code scanner to type in text:

  1. On your mobile device, open the RealWear Companion app.
  2. Select “Remote Keyboard”.
  3. Type in the text you want.
  4. When you’re done, put on your RealWear Navigator 500.
  5. Open the text field where you want to insert the text from the app. 
  6. Say “Barcode Reader”
  7. Then scan the QR code from your RealWear Companion App with your Navigator 500.
  8. The text from your RealWear Companion App should now appear in the text field of your Navigator 500.

How to use the code scanner to open a URL:

  1. Turn on your RealWear Navigator 500.
  2. Say “My Programs”.
  3. Say “Barcode Reader”.
  4. Scan the QR code that contains the URL you want to open.
  5. You now have options to open URL with RealWear’s Page Viewer or open it with another web browser, such as Google Chrome.
