How to transfer files from your computer to the Magic Leap 2?

In this article you will learn how to transfer files from your computer to the Magic Leap 2 and how to transfer a file from the Magic Leap 2 to a computer.

What is needed:

• Magic Leap 2 Headset & Compute Pack 
• Computer 
• USB-C cable to either USB-C or USB depending on the ports on your computer 
• Magic Leap Hub installed on your computer

How to transfer files from your computer to the Magic Leap 2

1. The process of transferring files from your computer to the Magic Leap 2 is performed through the Magic Leap Hub on your computer.
2. Download the Magic Leap Hub to your computer.
3. Launch the Magic Leap Hub on your computer.
4. Connect the Magic Leap Compute Pack with the computer using a USB-C cable.
5. On your computer in the main menu of the Magic Leap Hub, you will see up to 6 rectangular fields. In the “Device Bridge field” click on the white “Start Device Bridge” button.
6. The Device Bridge will start. 
7. At the top of the Device Bridge you need to select the “Files” tab.
8. On the left side of the Files tab you will see a section with all the folders that are currently on the Magic Leap 2. 
9. Select the folder you want to transfer a file to. For example if you want to transfer a picture, select “Photos”.
10. Then click on the “Settings” icon at the top of the Folder section.
11. A drop down menu will appear. Select “Upload” Files.
12. The explorer of your computer will be opened. 
13. Select the file you want to upload on your headset and click on the “open” button. If you can not find the desired file, you might have selected the wrong folder to upload that specific file into. 

The file is now transferred to the Magic Leap 2.

How to transfer files from your Magic Leap 2 to your computer

1. The process of transferring files from the Magic Leap 2 to your computer is performed through the Magic Leap Hub on your computer.
2. Download the Magic Leap Hub to your computer.
3. Launch the Magic Leap Hub on your computer.
4. Connect the Magic Leap Compute Pack with the computer using a USB-C cable.
5. On your computer in the Magic Leap Hub main menu, you will see up to 6 rectangular fields. In the “Device Bridge” field, click on the white “Start Device Bridge” button.
6. The Device Bridge will start. 
7. At the top of the Device Bridge you need to select the “Files” tab.
8. On the left side of the Files tab you will see a section with all the folders that are currently on the Magic Leap 2.
9. Select the folder you want to transfer a file from. For example If you want to transfer a picture, select “Photos”.
10. Then select the specific file you want to transfer.
11. On the right side you will see the name of the selected file. 
12. Click on the white “Download” button located under the name of the selected file.
13. The file will be downloaded.

The file is now transferred from the Magic Leap 2 to your computer.
