In this article you will learn how to set up a boundary on the HTC Vive Focus 3. The virtual boundary is set to keep you safe in VR. The area should be kept clear of objects, pets and other people. If you don’t have enough space for a room-scale boundary (at least 1.5 x 1.5m), you can set a small stationary boundary. The stationary boundary can be used sitting or standing.
What is needed:
- HTC Vive Focus 3
- Controllers
When setting up your HTC Vive Focus 3 for the first time, you will need to do a guided room setup. You can start to run a room setup again by going to Settings > Boundary. Here you can reset the active boundary and/or floor level.
How to set up a boundary:
- Set the floor height by pushing down your controller until you touch your floor with it.
- Choose if you want to use a room-scale or stationary setup
- If you choose a room-scale boundary, you are now able to draw the boundaries and adjust objects. This boundary can be reset and redrawn at any time.
- Now you can set the forward facing direction, which will be the direction where the menus will appear.
You should now know how to set up a boundary on the HTC Vive Focus 3.
