How to screencast with the Pico 4 (Enterprise)?

In this article we will explain how to screencast with the Pico 4 and the Pico 4 Enterprise. The steps on how to screencast with the Pico 4 or the Pico 4 Enterprise are identical.

NOTE: Screencasting with the Pico 4 and Pico 4 Enterprise only works in conjunction with an Android device or Android Smart TV!

What is needed:

  • Pico 4 Headset
  • Pico 4 Controllers
  • 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection
  • Computer or Smart TV

How to screencast with the Pico 4 and Pico 4 Enterprise

  1. Put on your headset and turn it on.
  2. At the bottom of your view you will find the dock. On the right side of that dock, there is a field displaying the time, the battery status of the headset and the Wi-Fi connection. Click on that field to open the quick settings.
  3. The quick settings window will appear. At the top of that window the headset and the controllers are displayed.
  4. Click on the ”Screencast button” located in the middle of that window underneath the displayed headset.
  5. Click on the blue “Start Screencast button” located in the bottom right corner.
  6. Then you will be asked if you want to allow access to the microphone. Click on the blue “Allow button” located on the bottom right of your view. 
  7. Now you can select if you want to cast to a Smart TV or cast to a Browser.

Option 1: Screencast to a Browser

  1. To cast to a Browser click on the “Cast to Browser button” located on the right side.
  2. Make sure you connect the headset and the receiving device to the same 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection.
  3. The current Wi-Fi connection is displayed at the bottom in the middle of your view.
  4. If you need to change the Wi-Fi connection of the headset you can click on the field where the current Wi-Fi connection is displayed and select the desired Wi-Fi network.
  5. On the right side of that window you will see the web address to Screencast.
  6. On your computer enter that exact web address into the browser.
  7. Still on your computer click on the blue “Start Screencasting button” in the middle of the browser window.
  8. In the headset you need to allow the screencast to External Devices by clicking on the blue “Allow Button” located in the bottom right corner of your view.
  9. The screencast will start.

Option 2: Screencast to a Smart TV

  1. To cast to a Smart TV click on the “Cast to Smart TV button” located on the left side.
  2. Make sure you connect the headset and receive Smart TV to the same Wi-Fi.
  3. The current Wi-Fi connection is displayed at the bottom in the middle of your view.
  4. If you need to change the Wi-Fi connection of the headset you can click on the field where the current Wi-Fi connection is displayed and select the desired Wi-Fi network.
  5. You have 2 options to cast to a Smart TV: “Miracast” or “Cast for PICO”.
  6. If you want to screencast using Miracast, open the Miracast App on your TV.
    1. Your headset can find the Smart TV if the TV displays the “Waiting for connection” status.
    2. In your headset you will see the Smart TV on the right side under the section “Devices Available”.
    3. Click on the name of your Smart TV displayed under the section “Devices Available”.
    4. Now you need to allow the screencast to External Devices by clicking on the blue “Allow Button” located in the bottom right corner of your view.
    5. The screencast will start.
  7. If you want to screencast using Cast for PICO, open the Cast for PICO App on your TV.
    1. If you have not downloaded the Cast for PICO App on your Smart TV, download it from the TV App store or the PICO Official Website. 
    2. Open the Cast for PICO App.
    3. Your headset can find the Smart TV if the TV displays the “Waiting for connection” status.
    4. In your headset you will see the Smart TV on the right side under the section “Devices Available”.
    5. Click on the name of your Smart TV displayed under the section “Devices Available”.
    6. Now you need to allow the screencast to External Devices by clicking on the blue “Allow Button” located in the bottom right corner of your view.
    7. The screencast will start.
