In this article you will learn how to recenter the Valve Index.
What is needed:
- Valve Index Headset
- Valve Index Controllers
To recenter the view in the Valve Index VR headset, you can follow these steps:
- While wearing the headset, press the System button, this is the small button that turns on the controllers and the SteamVR menu will pop up.
- While you are in the menu, direct your controller towards the small icon that resembles a person with a circular arrow pointing upwards, click on it.
- A timer will start to show when the headset will be recentered. While the timer runs, look and move yourself in the direction you want to be facing while playing games.
- To exit the SteamVR menu simply press the controller power button once more.
Recentering and reorienting the view can be useful if you haven’t set up your place space correctly. This can occur when your room and play space don’t align with the direction you want to be facing in VR. This can also be used if the orientation of the headset has become misaligned for any reason.
