This article will explain how to play SteamVR games on the Pico 4.
What is needed:
- Pico 4 headset
- VR-ready PC or laptop
- Wi-Fi connection
- For wired connection: USB-C cable
Recommended PC requirements
- Operating System: Windows 10 or later
- CPU: Intel Core i5-4590/AMD FX 8350 equivalent or better
- RAM: 8 GB or more
- Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970, AMD Radeon R9 290 equivalent or better
Required software
Pico Streaming Assistant
- Download and Pico Streaming Assistant on your PC.
- Follow the instructions to install the software.
SteamVR
- Download and install Steam on your PC.
- Afterwards launch Steam.
- Search for “SteamVR”.
- Download and install it.
How to play SteamVR games with the Pico 4 via USB streaming
- On your PC, launch the Pico Streaming Assistant.
- Choose USB as the connection mode. You will now see a loading screen.
- Now connect the VR headset to your PC via the USB-C cable.
- Put on your Pico 4 and turn it on.
- From the home screen, go to your Library and launch the Pico Streaming Assistant application.
- You will now see your PC on the right side with the option to connect with it.
- Click on Connect.
- The screen will turn black. Wait for about 5 seconds, SteamVR is starting automatically on your PC. As soon as the starting process is completed, you will see the SteamVR home screen with all your content accessible.
How to play SteamVR via Wi-Fi streaming
- On your PC, launch the Pico Streaming Assistant.
- Choose Wi-Fi as the connection mode. You will now see a loading screen.
- Now put on your Pico 4 and turn it on. Make sure your headset and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- From the home screen, go to your Library and launch the Pico Streaming Assistant application.
- You will now see your PC on the right side with the option to connect with it.
- Click on Connect.
- The screen will turn black. Wait for about 5 seconds, SteamVR is starting automatically on your PC. As soon as the starting process is completed, you will see the SteamVR home screen with all your content accessible.
