In this article you will learn how to estimate your IPD (Interpupillary distance) in a mirror. A misaligned IPD is a common cause for blurry images, dizziness and eye strain. Therefore, it is important to set the IPD of your VR headset according to the IPD of your eyes.
What is needed:
- Mirror
- Millimeter Ruler
Estimate your IPD in a mirror:
- Stand right in front of the mirror and hold your ruler up to your eyes. Make sure that the ruler is straight and level.

2. Align the zero mark with the center of your pupil. It might be helpful to close your other eye to get a clear measurement.

3. Now check the millimeter mark on your other eye. It may be helpful to close the first eye to get a clear measurement.

4. Make a note of your IPD result. It is best to re-measure several times to ensure that your reading is accurate. You should now know how to estimate your IPD.
