How to connect the Vuzix Blade 2 to Wi-Fi?

In this article you will learn about the two different methods to connect the Vuzix Blade 2 to Wi-Fi.

With the companion app

What is needed:

  • Vuzix Blade 2 (Already linked to smartphone)
  • Smartphone with Vuzix Companion app
  • Wi-Fi network

How to connect to the Wi-Fi with the Vuzix Companion app

  1. Open the Vuzix Companion app on your smartphone
  2. Verify that you are connected to the desired Vuzix device
  3. Then click on the Settings icon on the bottom right of the application.
  4. In the Settings menu look for Wi-Fi and click on it
  5. If the Wi-Fi is off on the device toggle it on
  6. A list of Wi-Fi networks should now be displayed.
  7. Select the desired Wi-Fi network and fill in the password
  8. Click Join

The Vuzix Blade 2 should now be connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Without the companion app

What is needed:

  • Vuzix Blade 2
  • Wi-Fi network

How to connect to the Wi-Fi via the Vuzix Blade 2

  1. Navigate to the homescreen of the Vuzix Blade 2
  2. From the homescreen, use one finger on the touchpad located on the right side of the device and swipe forward until the Settings icon is seen. Using one finger tap the touchpad to enter the Settings menu.
  3. From the Settings menu, use one finger on the touchpad located on the right side of the device and swipe forward until the Connectivity icon is seen. Using one finger tap the touchpad to enter the Connectivity menu.
  4. From the Connectivity menu, use one finger on the touchpad located on the right side of the device and swipe forward until the Wi-Fi icon is seen. Using one finger tap the touchpad to enter the Wi-Fi menu.
  5. From the Wi-Fi menu, use one finger on the touchpad located on the right side of the device and swipe forward until the Add Network icon is seen. Using one finger tap the touchpad to enter the Add Network menu.
  6. From the Add Network menu, use one finger on the touchpad located on the right side of the device and swipe forward until the Desired Wi-Fi network is seen. Using one finger tap the touchpad to begin adding the network.
  7. A password menu should appear with a virtual keyboard. Using one finger on the touchpad you can swipe up, down, left and right to navigate and select a character and enter it in by tapping on the touchpad with one finger. Once complete click on the “green tick” on the bottom right to enter the password.

The Vuzix Blade 2 should now be connected to the Wi-Fi network.
