How to connect the Valve Index to a computer?

To connect the Valve Index to a computer, follow these steps:

  1. First, ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for the Valve Index. You can find the system requirements on the Valve website. Or by downloading the “Are you ready for Valve Index?” software.
  2. Download and install the SteamVR software from the Steam website or via the Steam store.
  3. Connect the headset to the PC using the provided USB and DisplayPort cables. The USB cable should be connected to a USB 3.0 port on your motherboard and the DisplayPort cable should be connected to a DisplayPort 1.2 or higher port on your graphics card.
  4. Connect the power adapter to the headset and plug it into an electrical outlet.
  5. Launch SteamVR from your Steam library.
  6. Put on the headset and adjust it for a comfortable fit.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the room setup by choosing  room-scale or standing only.
  8. Once everything is set up, you should be able to use the Valve Index VR headset to play VR games on your PC.
