How to Adjust Display & Text Size on Apple Vision Pro

This article provides a step-by-step guide to customizing your visual experience on visionOS.

If you find that the default interface elements are too small to read or the background “Environments” make it difficult to focus on your apps, you can easily tweak these settings to fit your needs.

What is needed:

  • Apple Vision Pro headset
  • visionOS version 1.0 or later

How to customize Text Size and Boldness

  1. Open Settings: Look at the Settings app icon (the gear icon) and tap your fingers to open it.
  2. Navigate to Accessibility: Scroll down on the left sidebar and select Accessibility.
  3. Select Display & Text Size: Tap on this option to see the customization menu.
  4. Larger Text: Tap this and use the slider to increase the font size across the entire system.
  5. Bold Text: Toggle this on to make all text thicker and more prominent against the glass-like interface of visionOS.

Adjusting Display Contrast and Transparency

  • Increase Contrast: If windows feel like they are “blending” into your room, turn this on to make the borders and buttons more distinct.
  • Reduce Transparency: This setting makes the background of apps more solid and less “see-through,” which is helpful when using busy Immersive Environments.
  • Reduce White Point: If the displays feel too bright even at low volume, use this slider to dim the intensity of bright colors.

Troubleshooting: Eye strain and legibility

  • Blurry Text: If increasing the text size doesn’t help, ensure your ZEISS Optical Inserts are correctly installed or that your lenses are clean.
  • Smudges: A dirty lens can make text appear “ghosted.” Always use your Apple Polishing Cloth to wipe the internal lenses before a long reading session.
