How to activate passthrough on the Meta Quest 3?

In this article you will learn how to activate passthrough on the Meta Quest 3.The passthrough feature enables you to exit the virtual reality environment and view your real-world surroundings in real-time.

What is needed: 

  • Meta Quest 3 headset
  • Meta quest 2 controllers

How to activate passthrough on the Meta Quest 3

  1. Press the Meta Button on the right controller to open the universion menu.
  2. Click on the displayed time on the left side of the dock to open the Quick Settings.
  3. Click on “Passthrough” to view your real-world surroundings.

You will now see your surroundings through the Meta Quest 3.

How to activate passthrough with a double tap on the Meta Quest 3

  1. Press the Meta Button on the right controller to open the universal menu.
  2. Click on the square on the right side of your dock to view all apps.
  3. Open the “Settings” app.
  4. Click on “Physical Space” in the top row.
  5. Select “Passthrough” on the left side of the menu.
  6. Select the toggle “Double Tap for Passthrough”.

Double Tap for Passthrough is now activated. you can now double tap your headset on the right or left side of your headset to see your surroundings through the Meta Quest 3.
