Using a spatial computing device requires the eyes to adjust differently compared to traditional screens. Following visual hygiene principles helps you avoid eye strain and headaches.
Optimizing Visual Comfort
- The 20-20-20 Rule: After every 20 minutes of use, look at a virtual object in the distance within your Immersive Environments for at least 20 seconds to relax your eyes.
- Recalibration: If you feel the image is not sharp, go to Settings to re-run the Eyes & Hands setup. Proper alignment reduces the pressure on your eye muscles.
- Light Seal Alignment: Ensure the Light Seal and Cushions fit snugly against your face to prevent light leakage, which helps your eyes avoid over-adjusting due to poor contrast.
Managing Fatigue
- Blue Light Reduction: Use the Night Shift feature within visionOS to reduce blue light in the evening, helping to maintain your natural sleep cycle.
- Weight Distribution: Adjust the headbands so the weight is evenly distributed, avoiding pressure on the forehead and sinuses for better circulation during long sessions.
