Getting started with XREAL One Pro

What is the XREAL One Pro:

The XREAL One Pro is a pair of AR glasses (also called display or smart glasses) that shows a large virtual screen floating in front of you while you still see the real world. You plug them into a phone, laptop, handheld or console and get a private display of up to about 171 inches, without a headset or a separate box.

They are aimed at people who want a big screen anywhere: working on a laptop in transit, gaming on a handheld, or watching video privately. What sets the One Pro apart from most AR glasses is the onboard X1 spatial chip, which lets the screen stay fixed in space with very low latency, so you can turn your head and the window stays put. This is done on the glasses themselves, so it works without installing a phone app.

The One Pro is the higher-end model in the XREAL One line. It uses XREAL’s flat-prism (X Prism) optics for a wider view than the standard One, weighs 87 grams, and has speakers tuned by Bose. It has no built-in battery and no built-in camera by design; it draws power from the device it is connected to. In short, it is a portable display and a light pair of spatial glasses in one, rather than a standalone computer.

What’s in the box:

  • 1 × XREAL One Pro glasses
  • 1 × Prescription lens frame without lenses
  • 1 × USB-C to USB-C cable
  • Nose pads in small, medium and large
  • 1 × Cleaning cloth
  • 1 × Protective case
  • 1 × User manual.

How to setup:

  • Connect the glasses to a compatible USB-C device, unlock or wake it
  • The virtual screen appears.
  • Adjust brightness and dimming
  • Choose Follow or Anchor mode.
  • For phones and handhelds, fit the included nose pad size that seats the glasses level with your eyes, since fit is the biggest factor in image sharpness and comfort.

How to look after:

  • Clean the lenses with a dry microfibre cloth
  • Avoid liquids or abrasive wipes
  • Keep them in the case when not in use
  • Do not leave them in direct sunlight or a hot car, which can affect the optics and electronics.
  • Handle by the frame rather than the lenses to avoid smudges.

Who it suits:

commuters and travelers who want a private big screen, people working on laptops or handhelds in shared or small spaces, and gamers on consoles and handheld PCs. It is less suited to anyone who needs a fully standalone device, a built-in camera, or all-day wear as ordinary glasses.

FAQ:

  • Why is the image only sharp in the middle? The glasses are not seated correctly, or the IPD size is wrong. Adjust the nose pad and centring.
  • Can I fold and pocket them? Use the case; the optics and hinges are precision parts and are best protected in transit.
