Before you start
- Do not allow the lenses to come in contact with long periods of direct sunlight. This will permanently damage the screen and does not fall under warranty.
- Make sure you have enough room space to move around.
How to connect the Skyworth S801 to a Wi-Fi network?
There are two options to connect the Skyworth S801 to a Wi-Fi network.
Option 1:
- In the main menu click on the “settings icon” in the bottom right corner.
- You will now see 5 icons in the middle of your view. Click on the “Wi-Fi icon” located on the left of the 5 icons.
- Choose the WiFi you want to connect with and enter the password.
- Click connect.
The Skyworth S801 is now connected to the Wi-Fi.
Option 2:
- In the main menu at the top of your view you will find a thin bar showing information about whose account is registered, if you are connected to a WiFi or a Bluetooth device, if a controller is connected and how much your device is charged.
- Click on the small “Wi-Fi icon” located in the second position from the left of the thin bar.
- Choose the WiFi you want to connect with and enter the password.
- Click connect.
The Skyworth S801 is now connected to the Wi-Fi.
Which app stores are available on the Skyworth S801?
There are no app stores available on the Skyworth S801.
Instead you can install your own applications. A guide on how to install an APK on the Skyworth S801 can be found here or in the section below.
How to install an APK on the Skyworth S801?
- Download the APK you wish to install onto your computer. It is important that the file type of the APK has the extension “.apk”. This can be checked by looking at the name of the downloaded file. If the name ends with “.apk” it is the correct type.
- Connect the headset to the computer using a micro USB to USB cable.
- Turn on your headset.
- When your headset is turned on you should see a colored LED light, either blue, pink or red on the left side of your headset. This indicates that your headset is turned on.
- Now on your computer open the Explorer.
- Copy the downloaded APK.
- In the explorer window on the left side you will find different folders.
- Click on the folder called “This PC”. There you will find a folder called “S801”.
- Open the folder “S801”.
- There you will find all the files that are on your headset. For example: Pictures, Videos, APK.
- Open the folder called “APK”.
- Paste the copied APK you downloaded in step 1 into the “APK” folder of the headset.
- Once the APK has been pasted or transferred successfully disconnect the cable from the headset and put on the headset.
- The main menu is divided into three sections. The middle section is located in the middle of your view. If you look to the right you will find another section next to the one in the middle. In there click on the “APK icon” which is located on the right side of this section.
- There you will find the new APK that has been added.
- Click on the icon of the APK you added and click confirm to start the installation.
- After the APK is installed click on the “APP icon” located on the right side of the right window.
- There you will find the installed APK.
The APK is now installed on your headset.
How to activate developer mode on the Skyworth S801?
- In the main menu click on the “settings icon” in the bottom right corner.
- You will now see 5 icons in the middle of your view. Click on the “more icon” located on the right of the 5 icons.
- The Android setting menu will be opened. To scroll down press the confirm button and look up until you reach the segment “System”.
- In the System section click on the “About” button on the right side.
- In the new screen scroll down using the confirm button until you reach the “build number” button.
- Now click on the “build number” button 7 times.
- Go back by pressing the back button. The back button is located on the right side of the headset at the top.
Your Skyworth S801 should now be in developer mode.
