This article will help you get started with the Lenovo ThinkReality VRX.

In the box

Before you start

  • Do not allow the lenses to come in contact with long periods of direct sunlight. This will permanently damage the screen and does not fall under warranty.
  • Make sure you have enough room space to move around.
  • Before using the headset, make sure to remove the protective stickers from the lenses inside the headset.
  • Also make sure to open the battery compartment on each controller and remove the pull tab from behind the batteries.(The controllers will not work if these pull tabs are not removed.)

How to connect the Lenovo ThinkReality VRX to a Wi-Fi network?

  1. Turn on the headset and put it on.
  2. Select the ‘Quick Settings’ at the bottom right corner of the dock.

  1. Select the ‘Wi-Fi symbol’ in the middle of the Menu.
  2. Click on the ‘Wi-Fi’ you would like to connect to and enter the password.
  3. Click on Connect device.

How to download and install an application on the Lenovo ThinkReality VRX?

  1. Turn on the headset and put it on.
  2. Make sure it is connected to an internet connection.
  3. On the dock select the ‘Apps’ Icon.

  1. Once you have found a game you want, select the game. And Steam® and SteamVR™ can be used to access a wide range of VR content. To stream content from SteamVR™ to the ThinkReality VRX, you need to install the ThinkReality Streaming Assistant Windows app on your PC. This app facilitates the streaming of VR content from SteamVR™ to the ThinkReality VRX headset. 
  2. Download the ThinkReality Streaming Assistant Windows app by clicking: [Download] ThinkReality Streaming Assistant . Steam® and SteamVR™ must be installed on the Windows PC.

How to activate developer mode on the Lenovo ThinkReality VRX?

To enable Developer Mode, perform the following steps:

  1. Turn on the headset and put it on. Open Settings by clicking on the gear icon on the ThinkReality VR Dock.

  2. Select the About menu item from the left navigation.

  3. In About, click on the Software Version label seven times without pausing. As you are clicking on the label, a message appears that displays the countdown to enabling Developer Mode.

  4.  When complete, a message appears that indicates that the ThinkReality VRX is in Developer Mode. If there is a pause, while pressing Software Version seven times, it causes a reset.

  5. A new button, Developer Mode, appears.

  6. Click Developer Mode to display the Developer Mode panel. Confirm that Developer Mode is selected.

How to transfer files from a computer to the Lenovo ThinkReality VRX?

To transfer files from your computer to the ThinkReality VRX, follow these additional steps:

Transferring files to your ThinkReality VRX can enhance your virtual reality experience by allowing you to access custom content and applications. Whether you’re loading up new media or software, the process is straightforward with the right steps.

  1. Toggle the USB debugging.

  1. To transfer files from your computer to the ThinkReality VRX, change the USB connection to Transfer files.

  2. The first time you connect your ThinkReality VRX to your computer, the following message appears that confirms the connection:
  1. Accept the dialog box to connect to your computer. Click on Allow

The ThinkReality VRX is ready to side load apps and copy files to and from your computer.
