Does the XREAL One Pro have a battery, and how is it powered?

The XREAL One Pro has no built-in battery. It is powered entirely by the device you connect it to, over the USB-C cable, so there is nothing to charge on the glasses themselves. This keeps them light at 87 grams and means they are ready whenever the host device is.

Because they draw power from the host, they will use some of your phone’s or handheld’s battery while in use.

For long sessions on a device with a smaller battery, connect through a hub or use a phone or handheld that supports charging while the glasses are attached, so the host stays topped up. On a laptop the draw is negligible relative to the laptop battery.

FAQ:

  • How much power do they use on a phone? Enough to notice over a long film or gaming session; plan to charge the phone in parallel for extended use.
  • Can I charge the glasses overnight? There is nothing to charge; they only draw power while connected and in use.
