Data Privacy and Optic ID

Data security is a foundational pillar of spatial computing. Apple ensures that your biological and environmental data remains private and encrypted.

  • Optic ID Encryption: Your iris patterns are encrypted and isolated within the Secure Enclave, ensuring that your biometric data never leaves the device.
  • Sensor Privacy: Information from the Sensors and Cameras used for eye tracking and room mapping is processed on-device and is not shared with third-party apps or Apple.
  • Visual Search Security: When using intelligence features to identify objects, the data is processed by the M2 Chip locally to prevent external data leaks.
  • App Permissions: Users can manage which applications have access to their spatial data through the Privacy & Security menu in Settings.
